Pushkar an important religious place of Hindus is located at a distance of 11 km from Ajmer in Rajasthan State. This city is encircled by hills on three sides and sand dunes on the other which make it a beautiful city that summons scores of tourists from several parts of the globe. The foremost attraction of this place is annual Pushkar Camel Fair held every year on the day of Karthik Purnima in October or November.

The Pushkar Fair official programme events and fairground will run from 8 November to Monday 14 November. The full moon night, Kartik Purnima 2016 is 14 November.

Pushkar Camel Fair

The Pushkar camel fair is the world’s largest camel trading fair. Around 30,000 camels are being traded here. Cultural programmers including folk dance and music are the real feast for eyes. The camel competition which includes best breed camel, best decorated camel, camel dance and camel race are the thrilling elements of this great event.
Fun and frolic is at its highest in the celebrations of the fair. Mustache competition, bridal competition, turban competition are organized to make the event more enjoyable and interesting. Besides this, body tattooing and puppet shows are added charms of the fair.

Pushkar Temples
